Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you use Broth, we collect the minimum data needed to provide the service:

• Account information: Email address and name provided during sign-up (via Clerk authentication).
• Recipe data: URLs you submit and the extracted recipe content stored in your personal cookbook.
• Usage data: Anonymous analytics events (page views, feature usage) via PostHog, hosted in the EU.
• Waitlist: If you join the waitlist, we store your email address to notify you when access is available.

How we use your data

• To provide and improve the Broth service.
• To send you product updates if you opted in.
• To analyze anonymous usage patterns and fix bugs.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.

Third-party services

• Clerk — Authentication. Processes your email and login credentials. Clerk Privacy Policy
• Convex — Database. Stores your recipes, meal plans, and account data. Convex Privacy Policy
• PostHog (EU) — Analytics. Collects anonymous usage events. No personal data is sent. Session recording is disabled. PostHog Privacy Policy
• Anthropic — AI processing. Recipe URLs are sent to Claude for content extraction. No personal data is included in AI requests. Anthropic Privacy Policy

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on Convex (US-hosted) and Clerk (US-hosted). Analytics data is processed by PostHog in the EU. All connections use HTTPS encryption in transit.

Your rights

You can:

• Request a copy of your data.
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Unsubscribe from any communications at any time.
